The Lineage — The Paramparā
Jyotish was never meant to be learned from a book alone. It is transmitted — teacher to student, generation to generation, in what is called the Guru-Śiṣya paramparā.
My Place within it
This is the lineage I stand inside of, as a student receiving it directly, the way it has always been passed: teacher to student, unbroken, generation after generation. When you sit with me, you are sitting with this entire transmission behind me.
I have been studying with Pt. Sanjay Rath, and I will continue to as long as we both are here to do so. But this tradition does not end with physical presence. Those who came before us remain alive within the consciousness of the teaching itself.
My Jyotish guru and guide, Pt. Sanjay Rath, alongside his wife and esteemed Jyotish scholar, Sarbani Rath. I remain deeply grateful for their teachings, guidance, and dedication to preserving the sacred tradition of Jyotish.
The living Transmission
I belong to the living tradition of the Shri Jagannath Center, rooted in the parampara transmitted from Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu through Sri Achyutananda Dasa and the Rath family of Orissa. I have ongoing teachings directly from Pandit Sanjay Rath, the current lineage holder, through the Parashara Jyotish Course and related programs.
Pandit Sanjay Rath, who continues this lineage today, is my Jyotish guru, my teacher and guide in this work. What I offer is not self-taught technique. It is the same transmission, still intact, still being passed forward, the same discipline of sight, applied to your chart.
